The Calcutta House


Hospice of Acadiana’s Calcutta House is an inpatient hospice house for patients whose symptoms are acute and cannot be successfully managed at home.

Our compassionate team of Registered Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, Hospice Trained Physicians, Social Workers, Chaplains, Bereavement Counselors and Trained Volunteers will care for, and support, you and your loved one, on their end-of-life journey.

Who We Serve


In-Home

Those receiving care at home whose condition requires more than can be provided in the home environment

Hospitalized

Terminally ill patients unable to or unlikely to leave the hospital due to disease or symptom progression

Isolated

Patients who do not have the family or caregivers needed for in-home hospice care

Indigent

Those lacking the financial means necessary for end-of-life care and support

Homeless

Sheltered homeless individuals who do not have suitable accomodations for care
